Westway Carriages Horses was founded by David West and his family in 2000 at a busy London stable. Since this time, the company has grown and developed into a large reliable company trained and accredited to the highest standard in Horseman and Coachmanship, while still maintaining family values and animal welfare at its core.
Over the years Westway Carriages Horses has been able to provide a wide range of services such as, horse drawn carriages for weddings, film and tv work, private parties, advertising, and sightseeing tours in Woburn, many of which are still provided now and can be seen on the services page.
David and his team also spent large portions of their career working with the Royal Family in places such as the Royal Mews at Buckingham Palace and training His Royal Highness Prince Phillips competition horses.
As well as show events David and the team has also been involved with training horses throughout their career and has provided services for many well-known jockeys and celebratory. Below is David leading Frankie Dettori to the winner’s enclosure after The Shire Horse Derby 2003, where Frankie said, “It was a one-horse race I think he scared off the competition, Epsom here we come”.
More recently Westway Carriages horses has moved from the busy London stables to distinguished stables located in Woburn.
Although now no longer based in London Westway Carriages Horses continues to be responsible for the success of the “Harrods Coach and Horse Team” and their famous Friesian Stallions. While also providing local services.
Westway Carriages Horses strive to be the type of Coachmen that those of a bygone era would be proud to see, maintaining tradition and providing a high quality-standard.
